Sampling of multi-band signals

Abstract This paper is about sequences (tn) of real numbers with the property that knowl edge of a signal s at these points, that is, (s(tn) tells us everything about the signal. In order that this problem makes sense it is necessary to assume that the spectrum of the signal is constrained in some way. Classically such constraints have been that the spectrum lies in a finite interval, but recently there has been considerable interest in signals whose spectra lie in finite unions of such intervals.
