Semigroup Kernels

Abstract This chapter concentrates on general properties of the kernels, properties which are valid for all the kernels constructed from strongly elliptic operators. Then, in Chapter IV, we specialize to second-order operators with real coefficients. The semigroups generated by this latter class of operators have numerous special properties of positivity and dissipativity which can be exploited to refine the general properties.
