Functional Spaces in Viscoplasticity

Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to provide some fundamental results on functional spaces, as used in viscoplasticity, for later reference. These spaces are various spaces of distributions associated with the deformation operator and the divergence operator, or spaces of vector distributions. To restrict the chapter to a reasonable length most of the basic theorems are stated without proofs. However, for the convenience of the reader some useful properties of the spaces related to the divergence operator are presented here with proofs (Section 2.3). For other results which can be easily found in text books or monographs adequate references are given. The notations stated in this chapter are used all over the book.
