Quasi-Boolean algebras and empirical continuity

Cleave John P. · 1991

Abstract A class of lattices called quasi-Boolean algebras (QBA’s) is examined in this chapter. These lattices include Boolean algebras, but the relation between the two classes is stronger than mere inclusion, as is shown in §7.5. The main reason for studying QBA’s is that they are structures underlying Korner’s theory of inexactness and empirical continuity (§§7.7, 7.8) and his three-valued logic of inexactness discussed in Chapter 8.
