Congruence relations

Abstract Let (L;f) be an Ockham algebra. Then an Ockham algebra congrnence (or, briefly, a congrnence) on L is an equivalence relation that has the substitution property for both the lattice operations and for the unary operation f. It follows that every congruence is in particular a lattice congrnence and it is essential to distinguish these two types. In order to do so, we shall use the subscript ‘lat’ to denote a lattice congruence.
