BAIES - A Probabilistic Expert System Shell with Qualitative and Quantitative Learning
Robert G. Cowell · 1992
Abstract BAIES (Bayesian Analysis In Expert Systems) is a probabilistic expert system shell program for analysing Bayesian networks. By treating the probability distributions of network models as arising from a set of Dirichlet distributions, BA/ES can use updating algorithms in order to adapt the Dirichlet parameters, and-hence revise the predictions made on future cases. Analysis of the predictions of the models against the data can be made both at the level of comparing models and also in criticising the local structure and prior distributions used within the models.
