Abstract is a computer language developed at the University of Hull, and more recently at the University of Durham, which implements a subjectivist statistical methodology based upon the analysis and revision of genuine beliefs about observables, using expectation rather than probability as a primitive. Within a traditional Bayesian framework, our environment assists in the analysis of partial belief specifications. The role of this paper is to survey very briefly our approach and the tool that we employ to solve problems within our approach, namely [BID].
