Bias/Variance Trade-Offs in Direction of Arrival Estimation Using Sensor Arrays
S D Hayward · 2002
Abstract It is well known that arrays of sensors can be used to extract information about multiple targets from measurements of their superimposed transmitted or scattered waveforms. Of particular importance in many radar, sonar and commu-nications applications is the extraction of information relating to the direction of arrival (DOA) of each target. In general a single sensor cannot be used to obtain much DOA information. For a linear array of equispaced sensors the problem is related to the spectral analysis of discretely sampled time series, and it ,wait from the latter field that so-called high-resolution or super-resolution techniques were adopted. A great.
