Calculation of the fractal dimension

Julien Clinton Sprott · 2003

Abstract Much of the interest in chaos is motivated by the hope that an apparently random time series from some experiment arises from a low-dimensional dynamic, in which case it is amenable to simple modeling and short-term prediction. Chapters 9 and 10 described a few such models and discussed how you might fit them to data and test for predictability. Another important indicator of low-dimensional chaos is the existence of a strange attractor.
