Vision: The ‘Other’ Face of AI

Abstract The declared goal of Artificial Intelligence is to make machines intelligent and, at the same time, to understand the principles that make intelligence possible-both in natural and artificial systems. Consistent with the definition, Artificial Intelligence includes both the study of reasoning or problem-solving abilities and of perception, though the study of the former historically represents the first concern of Artificial Intelligence researchers and is still the major one.
