In MATLAB, the Dijkstra method is used to implement the CSMA/CD and Link State routing protocols, which includes determining the shortest path over a given network architecture. In contrast to the Link State protocol, which is used for long-distance connections, CSMA/CD is designed for usage in local area networks. These protocols' capabilities, such as collision detection and link state updates, are included into a revised version of the Dijkstra algorithm. To evaluate the efficacy of the routing protocols, MATLAB is used to program a modified Dijkstra algorithm and to simulate the network architecture. Network engineers and academics can benefit from this implementation by testing and comparing the performance of various routing protocols in a variety of real-world settings.
