Collecting and analysing data
David Mant, Patricia L Yudkin · 1993
Abstract All of the audits described in other chapters of this book require some collection and analysis of data. These tasks need special skills which are simple and well worth acquiring. They will not only save energy and resources, but will mean that the information obtained from reviewing the data is more likely to be an accurate reflection of what is happening in practice. Collecting and analysing data is a common cause of problems. It tends to generate large amounts of paper covered with figures which never quite add up.
