Abstract The focus of this chapter is shown in Figure 3-1. This chapter considers the MIT90s framework from a historical perspective, beginning with the development of the telegraph in the mid-1800s. By understanding changes accompanying information technology in the past we will be better able to understand its future possibilities as well as what is necessary to realize them.
