Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the reader to the main investigative and 14.01evidential applications of forensic speech science, namely speaker profilingg, forensic speaker identification and questioned utterance analysis.In presenting these areas, we shall attempt to address the concerns of the—mainly legal 14.02 and law-enforcement—readership of this book; namely, their strengths and limitations from both scientific and legal viewpoints.
