Software-defined network: An emerging solution for IoT-CC-edge paradigm—An impeccable study

The exponential rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and applications have been popular in the recent decade. For the computation and storing services, the IoT integrates with different technology for better efficiency and increase the scalability, robustness of the system, and its changes with time for improvement and overcoming limitations. In this paper, we are discussing the Cloud of Things (CoT) and its limitations that are overcome by edge computing. After that, we discussed a new paradigm Internet of things-cloud computing-edge computing (IoT-CC-EC) with its benefits and limitations. We also analyze that software-defined network (SDN) can be used in the IoT-CC-EC paradigm to optimize the Quality of service (QoS) parameter and better management of resources and network.
