In the context of a diverse and globalized world, the concept of “interdisciplinarity” exists in various aspects of theoretical research. In the field of music studies, music historiography and music education share common characteristics in terms of research subjects and methods. By integrating their knowledge, content, and research methods, researchers can approach a specific issue from a holistic, comprehensive, and inclusive perspective, which is a commonly used research approach in the field of music. From an interdisciplinary perspective, the integration of music historiography and music education provides a typical example of broadening theoretical research perspectives and innovating content. The interaction, integration, and mutual learning between the two disciplines inevitably generate more abundant research outcomes in music studies and provide a richer theoretical foundation for addressing real-world issues.
