Design and Implementation of High-Speed and Low-Complexity Blind Equalization Algorithm

Due to factors such as multipath propagation, there is intersymbol interference (ISI) in high-speed demodulation systems. To solve this problem, a parallel blind equalization based on multimodulus algorithm (MMA) is adopted in this paper. In order to reduce the complexity of parallel algorithm and save hardware resources, this paper proposes a new structure based on relaxed look-ahead technique and iterated short convolution (ISC) algorithm. The results show that the structure saves about 57.8% of the multiplier compared to traditional parallel structure in the finite-impulse response (FIR) filter section. Simultaneously, the multiplier and adder of the coefficient updating section are saved by 75% separately.
