Developing Cloud PLC for poST-Specified Software
Anton Maseevsky, Vladimir Zyubin · 2023
In this paper, the steps taken to develop a PLC simulator using Python interpreter and a translator from domain-specific language to general-purpose language are discussed. These tools were integrated into a web application to demonstrate their potential for use in third-party projects, eliminating the need for existing IEC 61131-3 development tools like CODESYS to test algorithms created with DSL tools. The focus of the development was on the poST language, which was specifically designed for cyber-physical systems based on PLCs by the Institute of Automation and Electrometry SB RAS. The paper provides a justification for the relevance of these tools, explains the translation rules and simulator algorithm, and outlines the graphical interface and functionality of the web application.
