Cybersecurity professionals also use the Dark Web. They monitor websites, forums, and blogs where hackers discuss new exploits, hacks, and companies and individuals they’ve targeted. Threat intelligence and new insights into emerging threats are provided, allowing them to protect their businesses better. Many systems, including Silobreaker, Terbium laboratories, Massive, Recorded Future, and AlienVault, as well as Webhose and RepKnight, collect threat intelligence, some from the Dark Web, and provide information about new malware and exploits. They also allow users to detect whether there is jabber about a person or company by searching for a credit card. This enables them to detect new vulnerabilities and exploits and determine whether businesses are being targeted or if their data has been compromised due to a hack. Using If you recall, I mentioned that Facebook and other websites have a presence on the Dark Web. The business advantage is that citizens in countries where these sites are blocked can access their services and businesses, thereby expanding their customer base (and ultimately making more money).
