Project Plan Structure

This chapter introduces the role and the value of the project plan inside organizations as an element of standardization of communication and exchange of information, analysis, and evaluation of results. A review of the various managing approaches, techniques, and benefits of the different project management methodologies regarding the project plan is presented. Fundamental elements of any project plan are presented, with some details and recommendations about their best usage. Work breakdown structure, resource breakdown structure, resource allocation, and budget creation are explained with numeric examples, and the role of a solid, well-structured communication plan is stressed as a crucial element for any project.
