Exploring Blockchain Solutions for Combating Fake Certificates

Blockchain Technology allows users to do any transaction in a more secure and decentralized way. Creation & distribution of fake certificates is an offense, but due to the advancement of technology and the need of getting certificates without much effort, the fake certificate market is growing with a lot of customers all around. Different frameworks or models based on blockchain exist to identify the problem of fake certificates and to verify the authenticity of certificates issued by various organizations and each one has its own merits & demerits. In this study, a survey is presented to analyze different methods of fake certificate identification based on blockchain. The scope of the survey comprehensively tells the hash functions used, public/private cryptography, smart contract & the technique of validation used for blockchain transactions.
