Sergio López‐Padilla, José Blanco, Pelayo Acevedo, Joaquín Vicente · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 2023

WildnetR is an R package that allows users to download and process data from the Enetwild database. The package includes functions to download population data for specific species and years, and to clean and process the data for analysis. This report outlines the data and methodologies used by the package, as well as the assessment and results of its use. The package has been designed to be user-friendly and accessible, while providing advanced functionality for data processing and analysis. The package is an ongoing project, and we plan to host the data on a secure online service like Azure or Zenodo, making the latest data available to users in a secure and efficient manner. The package will be updated in the future with additional functionality and data. This includes functions for modelling species distribution and generating predictions for species occurrence and abundance. WildnetR will also be optimized for speed and efficiency, to provide users with faster access to data and analyses. In addition to the functions provided by WildnetR, the package also includes extensive documentation and examples to help users get started with downloading, processing, and analysing the data.
