The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) refers to the standard for a telecommunication system that controls multimedia services accessing different networks. Not only the IMS but other telecommunications networks are also required to operate continuously. In addition, any system error can lead to massive losses in revenue and productivity. Therefore, operations and maintenance task has an important role in telecommunications networks, and it requires an efficient method to track down errors. In this paper, a solution that collects data all over the IMS and uses the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm to filter the data is presented. The operators can analyze the filtered data to decide whether the system is stable or not. Moreover, with the deployment of a special system for validating and testing, this solution finds out errors rapidly and reduces the time for fixing the errors. The proposed solution can be applied to other systems because it is based on software programming techniques and does not require any hardware implementation.
