Being a part of the modern era, coping up with the advancement of technologies is crucial. But the advancements in technologies are the result of the human brain and its capabilities. The urge to satisfy the advancements’ need is directly linked with the human psychology, such as emotions, behavior, personality, etc., in the overall context, the person&s;s mood. Music came out as a technique to help enhance the different capacities of the human race. Listening to music is one of the mysterious aspects of humans, which totally depends upon the mood of the individual. Music has now become a part of everyone&s;s life. Music&s;s connection is limited not only to emotions but also to the human mind and body. Therefore, predicting music using an individual&s;s mood can help people have better control over mind as well as their body. Many kinds of research have been going on to analyze and improve a person&s;s mood by detecting and analyzing their gestures and expression. The study upon mood recognition has been a trend for many years. The advancements in technology have contributed a lot to discover the insights in order to achieve the best possible way to deal with the gaps from time to time. This paper consists of a review of various works that have been published in the same field and the gaps in their research.
