Jaynes-Cummings interaction between slow free-electrons and cavity photons

The Jaynes-Cummings model, quintessential to quantum technologies, relies on bound electron systems having limited controllability. Here we show that low-energy free-electrons interacting with cavity photons offer alternative and versatile ways to implement the Jaynes-Cummings interaction.
