E‐Healthcare Systems Based on Blockchain Technology with Privacy

Healthcare challenges include sluggish access to medical data, poor system interoperability, lack of patient agency, and data quality and quantity for medical research that can be mitigated by blockchain. Doctors can access a patient's whole medical record thanks to the security and convenience provided by blockchain technology, while researchers can only access statistical data and not any personally identifiable information. Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and Blockchain (BC) can be extremely beneficial in healthcare systems for access control and massive data management. Putting in place a pure blockchain system, or migrating to one, is a complex task. Certain design and implementation dynamics must be addressed before an efficient solution can be built.
