Task-Resource Allocation Strategies in Fog Environment: A Mini Analysis
Navjeet Kaur, Ayush Mittal · 2023
The expeditious expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) brings fog-based accretion into the existing paradigm for real-time task processing, initiating many discussions among researchers and the business community. The fog-based extension to the cloud provides staggering service to delay-sensitive task processing in the IoT environment. But this extension gels with various challenges in scheduling real-time tasks within the deadline. This paper presents a mini-review which investigates the different architectures and scheduling algorithms proposed for the cloud fog model, which enhances the Quality of Service (QoS). Further, the paper also showcases quantitative summary of the review, meta-analysis on various parameters, and substantial research gaps. The review results provide enormous points for future researches that are still uncovered majorly mobility and security.
