Morphological structure defines the basic internal structure of any texture or pattern. The morphological analysis gives the idea of hidden features whether they are present within the target structure or not. For diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases it is necessary to identify and analyze properly the hidden structure of the affected cell at the beginning stage of metastasis. Here we aim to assess qualitatively the status of carcinoma cells and their progress towards metastasis phase using morphological methodologies such as erosion, dilation, skeletonization, branchpoints, top to hat transformation and end point transformation followed by histogram feature extraction technique. The histogram distribution of the transformed images was found to be an effective tool to indicate metastasis.
