Cyber-Dependent Crime
Andrew Staniforth · Oxford University Press eBooks · 2017
There have been several attempts to define cyber crime but they are most commonly viewed as falling into one of two categories. Those offences which are used against new technologies—cyber-dependent and are catered for within the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and the older type of offence where the new technology is being used to facilitate it. This chapter will explore those offences created to address those cyber-dependent crimes which in essence ‘attack the machine and networks’.
