Efficient coding of wideband ISF parameters : Application of variable rate SSVQ scheme

In this paper, we propose an inter-frame variable rate version of the switched split vector quantizer (SSVQ) developed for efficient coding of AMR-WB ISF spectral parameters. Simulation results will show that our new ISF coding scheme, called ISF-VR-SSVQ coder, performs better than the conventional ISF SSVQ and can save 1–2 bits per frame.
