Entity Component System Architecture for Scalable, Modular, and Power-Efficient IoT-Brokers

This paper proposes a modular and scalable approach for implementing an Internet of Things (IoT) broker using the Entity-Component-System (ECS) architecture. The broker is designed to handle numerous sessions and topics without performance degradation, utilizing a publish/subscribe messaging model similar to Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT). The approach simplifies the implementation of privacy, security, and trust measures in data exchange and offers a notable improvement in energy efficiency over a conventional open-source implementation.
