Critical success factors of augmented reality technology adoption in technical skill training for manufacturing

The evolution toward smart manufacturing solution is using several key technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing and communication systems while augmented reality has been presented as a core technology for future key research, along with virtual reality. The purpose of this study is to examine the critical success factors of augmented reality technology adoption in skill training for manufacturing sector. The questionnaires were distributed to TVET instructors and 37 sample were collected and analyzed using SPPS. The results show that all four factors have significance influence toward augmented reality technology adoption with the most critical factor is technology readiness, followed by students’ achievement, learning content and instructors’ acceptance. This study recommends exploring students’ participation as an active user of augmented reality as learning tool.
