Block Chain Applications and Case Studies for IoE

Roheen Qamar, Baqar Ali Zardari · 2023

Blocks, or public transactional data, are stored in a number of databases linked by peer-to-peer nodes in a blockchain technology framework. A “digital ledger” is another name for this kind of storage. The growing expansion of wireless-based solutions, such as those associated with mobile smart devices (e.g., smartphones and tablets) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices has resulted in numerous benefits in every aspect of our society. Such a scenario has turned the world governed by latency a few decades ago into a new one based on an efficient real-time interaction paradigm. Recently, Bitcoin has contributed to this technological revolution, the fulcrum of which is a decentralized model and a certification function provided by the so-called blockchain infrastructure, which allows financial transactions to be certified privately. Block chain was originally designed as a way to make Bitcoin, a trustless cryptocurrency, possible. However, the technology has since deviated from its original intent as an appealing alternative to resolving existing business issues and disrupting established industries has emerged. Block chain technology is examined in detail in this study, tracing its rise in popularity in comparison to related technologies like Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The benefits of using the blockchain golden age in the Internet of Things, the technical characteristics of the blockchain, and case studies of Internet of Entities are all covered in this chapter, as well as the protection situations (vital supervision, access control, privacy laws), and dealing with them in the past centuries.
