Enhancement of Security of Messages in Blockchain-Based IoE with Modified Proof-of-Authentication (MPoAh)

The Internet of Everything (IoE) describes numerous devices working simultaneously and sending data to the cloud or the processor of data. In terms of device dependency, we can say that one device can depend on the other devices for taking the data and processing the data correctly. In this chapter, we enhance the security of the messages transmitted by the IoE devices to the blockchain by using a novel timestamp and Ed25519 (Edward Curve) based signature algorithms. In the proposed system, the devices and sensors are connected to the cloud servers, and those cloud servers act as the peers for the blockchain. The consensus algorithm is followed by the cloud servers, and transactions are done between those cloud servers. Our proposed scheme provides security analysis and verification of message security. The proposed scheme&s;s result section shows our scheme is faster than previously proposed schemes and secure against known IoE attacks. The blockchain implementation is done on the Python-based custom blockchain with the Modified Proof-of-Authentication (MPoAh) consensus algorithm. The outcomes of this chapter show the data generated by the IoE devices is stored in the blockchain with secured messages and used for the future optimization of those IoE devices and networks.
