Data Breach Fraudulence and Preventive Measures in E-Commerce Platforms

Cybercrime is a moderately new worry for legislation regulating authorities. With the expanding figure of computer users associated with the web, the open door for cybercrime is increasing enormously. Additionally, with the increased utilization of social networking and the capability to make more online purchases, users can submit their personal information for the respective site through the Internet. Cybercrime is a severe menacing issue, and it is difficult to make government officials’ laws and challenges monitoring the issues on the web for information security analysts. Cybercrime detection strategies and classification techniques have concocted different levels of success for preventing and protecting data from cybercrime attacks. However, the study shows that many countries are facing this problem even today with maximum damages. In this work, an attempt was made to provide an overview of cyberattacks in India, especially in online shopping forums and data breaches experienced in the past years. Furthermore, it analyzes the preventive measures against these sorts of cyberattacks. From these analytical perspectives, organizations, and governments can develop the infrastructure to minimize cybercrimes and take efficient preventive measures against data breaches. This will ensure the secrecy of organizations from severe cybercrime attacks. E-commerce refers to the interest in buying and promoting matters over the net. Simply, it refers to the economic transactions which might be performed online. E-commerce can be drawn on many technologies, 162 including cell trade, Internet advertising and marketing, online transaction processing, digital budget transfer, supply chain control, electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory control systems, and automated statistics collection systems. The E-commerce security breach is happening by using the net for unfair means with the goal of stealing, fraud, and protection breach. There are diverse types of e-trade threats. Some are unintended, a few are helpful, and some of them are because of human blunders. The most common safety threats are digital payments, e-cash, statistics misuse, credit/debit card frauds, and many others.
