An Efficient Sharing of Docker Environments with Updating and Expanding Over a Hybrid Peer-to-Peer Network

In this paper, we propose an efficient container replication and deployment method using a hybrid Peer-to-Peer network for the purpose of sharing multiple Docker environments among many user terminals. By treating an operating environment of applications that can be shared by a Docker container as a single piece of content, using conventional content sharing method with version control, containers can be replicated and continuously redeployed in the locations that the users are always easy to access on the network according to the demand for the environment. We aim to reduce the network load during the service provision and improve the required container acquisition rate. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulations.
