How the IoT (Internet of Things) Is Poised to Jump-Start the Next Revolution

Aradhana Behura · Internet of Things · 2023

The industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) refers to interconnected sensors, instruments, and other devices networked together with computers’ industrial applications, including manufacturing and energy management. This connectivity allows for data collection, exchange, and analysis, potentially facilitating improvements in productivity and efficiency as well as other economic benefits. The IIoT is an evolution of a distributed control system that allows for a higher degree of automation by using cloud computing to refine and optimize the process controls. The IIoT is enabled by technologies such as cyber security, cloud computing, edge computing, mobile technologies, machine-to-machine, 3D printing, advanced robotics, big data, IoT, RFID technology, 1 and cognitive computing. In the era of technology, each and everything is going to be digital the device that we used nowadays is automatic means there is minimal involvement of human being because human being busy in their various field work so they are unable to monitor their things properly. In this era, IoT plays a vital role to develop a modern technology by providing sensor-based or automatic systems to provide proper monitor. The motive of this chapter is to present the role of IoT in agriculture for the implementation of smart farming, fundamental of IoT. This chapter presents the various component of IoT like network architecture, various application, network topologies used 38and protocol. IoT-based smart farming includes cloud computing, big data, storage, and analysis of whether through sensor also in IoT sensor based device developed for better management of smart farming rather than our country also other foreign country used this technology to better yield or monitoring.
