The Design of an Object-Oriented Constructive Solid Geometry Tree for Representing Sequential Set blends in Constructive Geometry, Soft Object, Function Representation and Zero Implicit Surface

This paper designs an object-oriented Constructive solid geometry (CSG) tree for representing sequential implicit set blends in Implicit surface modeling. This CSG tree is implemented using C++ language and every set blend or function is defined as an individual class. Thus, sequential blends are represented by using a CSG tree with objects instanced from different classes of set blend and defining function and branch nodes denote blends and leaf nodes defining functions. Especially, to calculate the function and derivative values of a CSG tree, just call the common services provided in the root node. In addition, to test a newly developed set blend or function, only a new class has to be implemented for it ,and then integrating and testing it with existing blends and defining functions can be done easily by just inserting an object instanced from the new class into a CSG tree. More importantly, the proposed object-oriented CSG tree works well for Constructive geometry, Soft objects, Function representation and Zero implicit surface.
