Comprehensive Survey on Artificial Intelligence-Based Malware Analysis and Detection Methods

In recent years cybercrime is a worldwide problem that constitutes a threat to individual security and very big imminence on large international companies, banks, and government sectors. To protect the confidential data and Network, Artificial Intelligence (AI) based malware analysis methods are used to monitor and detect any malware in the system. AI-based approach helps to arrive at better accuracy, less false positive rate with minimal training and processing time. This article provides a comprehensive summary and recent literature on Artificial Intelligence for detecting malware, including surveys, new developments, and research challenges pursued by the scientific community to address the problem. This article helps researchers with a thorough understanding of various machine learning models, the performance of various feature extraction methods, malware datasets, and malware detection tools, as well as the opportunity to compare performance analysis with state-of-the-art techniques, strengths, and limitations.
