This chapter discusses the life-cycles of software development through the component-based software engineering approach. It also discusses how to create a Blockchain-based repository that stores software component and describes how Blockchain technology helps to secure our data in healthcare applications. The proposed software development life-cycle model ensures the security of user data and also improves the quality of healthcare applications. Software engineering methodologies play an important role in building a large and complex healthcare application. Component reusability is an emerging topic of the software engineering community. The chapter presents a comparative study among different software development life-cycle models. A software development process generally requires a framework that is used to analyze, plan, control and manage the process of software development. The basic software development model contains five states: requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment. The chapter concludes the proposed work and provides future research directions.
