With the development of social networking and digitization, the scale of digital publications has experienced explosive growth. However, the fast dissemination and easy replication of digital content have led to increasingly severe issues of copyright infringement. Blockchain technology, as the underlying technology of Bitcoin, has the characteristics of decentralization, security against tampering, and irreversibility. These features can be well applied to digital copyright protection, addressing many of the pain points of the traditional third-party digital copyright protection system. However, existing blockchain-based digital copyright protection systems face some issues: the application layer lacks protection for off-chain content information, and there are security risks of copyright verification failure; the network layer’s full-node consensus results in slow copyright authentication speeds, which cannot meet the demands of large-scale daily use. This paper presents a blockchain-based digital copyright protection system designed and implemented from the bottom-up using the Substrate blockchain framework. This system addresses the current difficulties in digital copyright protection and improves upon the shortcomings of existing blockchain-based digital copyright protection systems. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Propose a digital copyright protection scheme with high security, fast convenience and convenient rights protection.(2)Combined with the blockchain network fragmentation technology, proposed the system network fragmentation strategy, which significantly improved the copyright registration speed of the system.(3)Substrate development framework based on Polkadot blockchain was used to implement the blockchain digital copyright protection system and perform performance tests.
