This brief studies the event-triggered synchronization problem of the multiagent systems (MASs) over finite fields. Firstly, the MASs over finite fields with event-triggered control (ETC) are modeled as algebraic form by the semi-tensor product (STP) method. Secondly, the leader-follower synchronization problem is transformed into the set stabilization problem about the systems with algebraic form. Moreover, to reduce the control execution times, the maximum invariant set or control invariant set with the smallest proportion of states to be controlled is selected as the target set rather than the maximum control invariant set. Thirdly, some necessary and sufficient conditions of the event-triggered synchronization of the MASs as well as the design method of the optimal state feedback event-triggered controller are given. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the conclusion of this brief.
