A Framework for Internet of Things Services that Enhances Privacy

Pramod Kumar Faujdar, Gurmandeep Kaur · 2023

Every day, the Internet of Things (IoT) is being widely deployed, raising the bar for human life. These Internet of Things (IoT) applications generate enormous amounts of data from their deployment environment. The majority of the gathered data, which is sent to the cloud devices for storage, processing, and sharing with the connected applications, consists of end-user private data or industrial data. Recent studies on IoT data privacy have mainly concentrated on data privacy at a single device or location within the network, but to our knowledge, none have identified and documented every site where end-user or industrial data privacy threats may exist. We have addressed both technological and management issues in this study to improve the privacy of IoT data. Following our suggested methodology for improving data privacy in the internet of things, we have identified and listed the areas where IoT data privacy threats exist (IoT). Ten recommendations are provided for preventing data privacy leakage to improve IoT data privacy. The outcomes of this work need to be helpful for both academic researchers and industry stakeholders when inventing and putting into practice innovative IoT solutions for the betterment of human society.
