A Role of Hierarchical Clustering Algorithms in Wireless Sensor Networks -A Review
Rachit Manchanda, Shonak Bansal · 2023
Aggregation and fusion of data within the cluster make the hierarchical clustering a cost-effective approach for lowering the total energy usage within the Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs). As a result, the quantity of data sent to the Base station (BS) gets reduced. Clusters form hierarchical WSNs which make the more effective use of Sensor nodes (SNs) resources and extend the lifetime of the network. The consumption of energy of the overall network gets reduced, and it also increases the total system scalability. The goal of this research is to give a review on hierarchical clustering in WSNs. A comparison of alternative hierarchical clustering techniques based on cluster features, Selection of cluster head (CH), heterogeneity, and clustering processes is also included in this paper.
