Su Pyae Win, Win Lelt Lelt Phyu, Tin Zar Thaw · 2023

One of the most popular research topics in any field right now is the IoT stands for Internet of Things. Developing IoT applications absolutely requires standard real-time communication technologies. Research and development teams use the protocol to establish communication from one physical device to another. The current set of application layer protocols in the IoT is discussed in the paper to establish a trusted connection between objects and things, namely, MQTT, XMPP, CoAP, MQTT-SN, STOMP, AMQP, DDS, JMS, LwM2M, REST, HTTP/2, and Websocket. The purpose of this paper is to be helpful to researchers in choosing the application layer protocols for their domain.
