Link Quality Prediction for Wireless Networks: Current Status and Future Directions

In wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and smart gird, link quality prediction (LQP) is an important part of routing design. Effective LQP can select high-quality links for communication and improve the reliability of data transmission. Therefore, it has been attracting a vast array of research works. Reported works on LQP are typically based on different link quality parameters and consider different models. This article provides a comprehensive survey on related literature, covering the fundamental concepts of LQP, the description of common link quality parameters and a summary of existing LQP models. Based on these investigations, we can provide reference for LQP research in the future.
