Cancer of the cervix is cervical cancer that causes death in females. It is characterized as silent cancer as it does not disclose any pain or symptoms. It takes 10–15 years to develop; hence the timely prognosis and diagnosis of cervical cancer can save lives. The evidence shows that using machine learning (ML) techniques in this domain can result in better prediction accuracy. The most commonly used ML techniques in cancer prognosis and diagnosis include decision trees, random forest trees, artificial neural networks, and support vector machines. These techniques have been broadly applied in cervical cancer research for the advancement of predictive models, bringing about powerful and effective models. The present work paper aims to investigate the usage of ML techniques used in the modeling of cervical cancer prognosis.
