The Prototype

Tom Green, Joseph Labrecque · Design Thinking · 2023

Nothing does more to bring a project to life than a prototype. Prototyping is the core of the creative process requiring both a highly developed sense of creativity and practicality. While wireframes may sketch out the basic blueprint and flow and mockups present the look and feel of the design, it is the prototype that either helps or hinders the user experience mission because you won’t know if your ideas are valid until a user picks up a mouse and clicks an object or taps on the screen. At this point, the prototype becomes a “proof of concept” that will expose any usability or accessibility flaws behind the wireframes and mockups.
