Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Pieces Using a 2D Computer Vision System

Traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions play an important role in the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. This paper introduces a method based on enhanced 3D point cloud model and 3D point cloud comparison algorithm for the calculation of volume and density features of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, which provides reference for clinical medication safety. The algorithm strengthened the 3D point cloud model generated by multiple two-dimensional pictures, and calculated the volume of Chinese herbal decoction pieces by using the 3D point cloud comparison algorithm, and then obtained the density of Chinese herbal decoction pieces. This method was an innovation in the identification of Chinese herbal pieces. The average relative error of the calculated sample volume and density was less than 6.5% and 5.9%.
