In Python, every word is classified as either a keyword or an identifier . All keywords have fixed meanings and these meanings cannot be changed. Keywords are the basic building blocks for program statements and must be written in lowercase. They are reserved words that cannot be used as variable names. The lists of all keywords are listed in Table 2.1 .
